Plot of Rain or Shine (2017)
In Just Between Lovers, Lee Gang-Doo (played by Lee Joon-Ho) once dreamed of becoming a professional soccer player, Rain or Shine but a tragic accident shattered those dreams. The accident claimed the life of his father and left Gang-Doo with a severe leg injury, forcing him to spend three years in rehabilitation. Now, with his aspirations lost, Gang-Doo drifts through life, burdened by his past and seemingly without purpose.
Ha Moon-Soo (played by Won Jin-A) is an architectural model maker who also survived the same accident that altered Gang-Doo’s life. The tragedy claimed the life of her younger sibling, leaving Moon-Soo with a deep sense of survivor’s guilt. She has coped by burying her emotions and living a life of quiet diligence, never allowing herself to fully confront her pain.
When Gang-Doo and Moon-Soo meet, they discover a shared history of loss and suffering. Their connection allows them to slowly heal and open in ways they never could before. As they spend more time together, Moon-Soo begins to express the feelings she has long suppressed, while Gang-Doo finds a renewed sense of purpose. Together, they embark on a journey of healing, confronting their past traumas and learning to live and love again despite the scars they carry.
Just Between Lovers is a poignant exploration of grief, healing, and the transformative power of human connection in the wake of devastating loss.
